Shadow IT, the act of employees buying and using business technology without the company’s permission (or even knowledge), is becoming a bigger and bigger problem as the volume of technology available to consumers keeps rising. Because employees use devices and applications without oversight, the company’s bottom line can be deeply affected.

The problem of Shadow IT Shadow IT (that is, technology used without approval) is everywhere these days. That means a lot of IT and telecom devices, services, and plans are being bought and used in organizations without any real scrutiny. In fact, up to 80% of enterprise IT can fly under the radar.
