Aircards you say? With increased frequency new devices are showing up on the corporate landscape adding to the plethora of wireless instruments and services being managed by corporations. Only a few short years ago the aircard, or internet on the goas I like to call it, spiked in use by the mobile or field unit worker. Any place, any time, any where you can connect to your back office applications transforming the way customers are serviced. Air cards are not inexpensive though, and companies are quickly adjusting to the reality of roaming fees, enhanced connectivity options and unchecked inventories. As one of my clients so put it, “Our users trade them like hockey cards”. Consequently units go unchecked, hidden away in drawers and computer bags while they rack up monthly recurring service charges – gold in the hands of the carriers.
