The list of Etelesolv’s (now Cimpl) achievements just keeps on growing! Once again, our company has been named one of the 50 Best Small & Medium Employers in Canada! What a testament to the company’s employee engagement! Our company is given a coveted spot on the list even as it doubled its personnel count since 2013. We clearly have a core of good employees who manages to attract others with the same positive workplace style.

What does it take to be recognized as a Best Small and Medium Employer?

Becoming recognized as a Best Small and Medium Employer (BSME) in Canada is both a detailed process and a very competitive challenge. The BSME study is national in scope; inaugurated and carried out by Aon-Hewitt (a top HR consultancy) and the Queen’s School of Business Centre for Business Venturing (in partnership with Profit Magazine and profitguide.com), the program recognizes the 50-399-person firms with the best employee engagement.

While multiple factors are considered in determining the ranking of companies, ultimately the achievement is predominantly driven by employee reports. In the run-up to the competition, employees are asked to anonymously fill out long, in-depth surveys that probe the quality of the workplace and the culture of the company. The anonymity serves to ensure honest assessments of the company’s treatment of staff. Study organizers very heavily weight the survey results in their determination of the BSME winners.

For over a decade, hundreds of companies per year vied for this recognition. The fact that Etelesolv has been named a BSME for each of the years it has participated in the program speaks volumes of the continued quality of employee engagement practiced at the company.
