Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, Eminem To Play at the YouTube Music Awards on Nov. 3.

YouTube is launching its own first music awards and it is all over the web. The Show will be presented at Pier 36 in New York City and will be streamed live online. The Google Inc.-owned company announced that Eminem and Arcade Fire and Lady Gaga will also perform during the ceremony.

The idea of a YouTube Music Awards show made sense given the way people actually watch music videos these days. Even more true when we know as a fact that after any MTV show people go to Youtube to replay scenes or listen to music whether they saw or just heard about it. Not to mention Miley Cyrus, Madonna or Britney Spears performances or let's say when something happens!

Youtube is no longer a phenomenon, it is part of our lives. It hosts phenomena though. We watch them, we love them and we share them everyday!

Jason Schwartzman will host the show, and the list of performers will include Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, and Eminem.

The website will kick off its first-ever annual awards show. As Billboard reports, the people at YouTube have tapped Spike Jonze, arguably the greatest music-video director ever, to be the show’s creative director, which strikes me as a very smart decision.

The awards show will honour artists and songs that YouTube fans have turned into global hits over the past year. Among the nominees, Walk off the Earth, a Canadian band known for their Gotye cover song video ad nominated for "I knew you were trouble" that is a real hit on Youtube, watch out!

The award show airs this Sunday at 6PM ET, and with Spike Jonze's proven talents as a music video director, it'll almost certainly be worth tuning in your smartphone or laptop!
