Cimpl’s Big Hearts Broke their Big Bike Record!

Cimpl's employees raise $4,735 to support the Heart & Stroke Foundation

This year again the ride took place in Pointe Claire, Québec, Tuesday June 11th. You know, that very very rainy day! Nonetheless, we honoured our rendez-vous and with great enthusiasm we got the big bike wheels rolling.

For the last two months, each member of the team committed to raising a minimum of $50 and we qualified as the 3rd highest fundraiser in Quebec this year! Every dollar we raised moves us closer to eliminating heart disease. Everybody in the company participated and went riding, even in the rain, and that's what counts.

Beyond supporting an important cause inherent to our Core Values, it all started in 2010, when we decided to participate in the Big Bike event in honour of a colleague who had passed away. We were deeply affected by this tragic moment and wanted to do something special in his honour. For the fourth consecutive year, we participated in the always fun, Big Bike event. Did we mention that it was all for a great cause?

Ray Farquhar, Senior Programmer and Big Bike Captain of Cimpl’s Team, led and organized the Cimpl community, encouraging us to raise funds and motivating us while riding.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada is celebrating 60 years of leading the way to better cardiovascular health for Canadians through research, health promotion, and advocacy. Thanks to the support of individuals and teams from across the country, plus sponsorships, the Big Bike raised about $7 million last year.

Despite the rain, we will remember it as a day lit by joy and hope. Together, we wish to raise more money next year and we cannot wait to give the Big Bike another ride!
