What you need to remember from SXSW® 2013 Events!

This premier destination for discovery shares fantastique creative and professional ideas!

South by Southwest® (SXSW®) conference and festival offers a unique convergence of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies. It happened in Austin, Texas and closed lat week. The Interactive Festival featured five days of compelling presentations from the brightest minds in emerging technology, scores of exciting networking events, the best new digital works, video games and innovations the international community has to offer.

The 3D printer was one of the most expected technology show since its first presentation in 2009 and hence was a big hit, right on the first day. We are getting closer to an affordable and user friendly DIY (Do it Yourself) product, useful not only for geeks but for you and me. I can solve many domestic problems as well as support creativity and why not change the world. We cannot make our own Nike pair of shoes at home... yet! However, it should not be long until we can.

After this introduction the following presentations were even better and everyday many new great creations were delivered among which my favorite winners'list you need to know before your next 5@7 chats!

1. The Google glasses:

You probably heard about them, well it seems we will be able to use them by the end of the year!

2. Activism finalists :

Wikipedia Zero is an initiative of the Wikimedia Foundation to enable mobile access, free of data charges, to Wikipedia in developing countries. The objective of the program is to reduce barriers to accessing free knowledge, two of the largest barriers being cost of data usage and network speed.

Charity Miles is a free app that empowers you to earn money for community involvement while walking, running or biking everyday. Just choose a charity and hit the streets. As you walk, run or bike, the app will track your distance and you'll earn money for your charity: 10¢ per mile for bikers; 25¢ per mile for walkers and runners, all up to $1,000,000 courtesy of corporate sponsors!

3. Amusement finalists:

Contre Jour is hauntingly beautiful, pleasantly challenging and strangely addicting… It is now on the web. Petit is the hero of the game and you will have to swing, shoot, drop or fling it through 30 free challenging levels. is a really beautiful and fun game to play for younger or older ones.

For nostalgics of Atari games Atari Arcade will make your day! They reimagined our favorite games from the 70s-80s for the Web with this vintage touch Not only can you play at Pong® but also Asteroid®, Combat®, Centipede®, Missile Command® or Lunar Lander®!

4. Motion Graphics finalists:

Blast Radius, very creative global agency picked up a new award for its interactive animation Air Jordan 2012. Have a look it is outstanding!

Marco Rosella is an award-winning designer & developer. He built his portfolio presentation with an experimental HTML5 zoomable interface powered by SVG. The result is breathtaking!

5. Business finalist:

The VIP Fridge Magnet is one of my favorites!  Red Tomato Pizza is a pizza delivery franchise in Dubai and other Gulf states. Their magnet should inspire a lot of our local pizza companies. It was such a success they are running out of stock! It is also thanks to their very funny video:

This conference always brings such amazing creativity pushing limits further and beyond. We are living a revolutionary time and it is running the fastest ever. If you stop and think a little, the oldest piece of technology our youth will ever have touched, in 20 years from now, will be an Iphone!

We are always working on improving innovative solutions for our customers. Our software plateform, Cimpl, led us to contribute remarkably to the Telecom Expense Management industry in North America. Continuousely inspired by our customers needs, we are now working on our next generation software, so be ready for what is coming next!
