4 steps to help you take back control

Conquer Your Telecom Fears

For nearly 20 years I have found myself living and breathing the joys of the Telecom industry, specifically on the Wireless side.  Over these years, I have been very fortunate to experience this ever changing industry from many facets of the supply chain ranging from service provider, to hardware vendor, to corporate, to retail sales, and training.  I have however left out one very important aspect of my industry experience… And that is that I have been a wireless handset user myself. At this point you are probably asking yourself where I am going with all of this.

The answer to your question, I have found that over the years all my experience has lead me to one (among many) conclusions about people’s perception of managing their telecom assets.  Managing wireless costs & expenses is scary and complicated in most people`s eyes. The proverbial elephant in the room no one wants to acknowledge or deal with.

The irony; you ask any given person on any given day what they are spending on telecom and the answer is frighteningly similar; “Oh, I think I pay about…” or “Oh yeah, I think I’m on the x plan”. They simply treat it like an infectious disease they do not want to contract.

Please allow me to offer you all a small suggestion.  Let`s face our fears and take back control.

Managing our own or our business`s telecom expenditure is not a scary, maniacal beast that goes bump in the night.  With some responsibility and a little bit of discipline, it can be a tame as a household pet.  After all, we are the masters of our own devices.

Let me share some simple steps that will help you begin to break the myth on telecom expense fears and perceptions.

  1. Know what you own in terms of telecom assets.
  2. Make a conscious effort to know what you pay for these assets.
  3. Be disciplined with how you use or allocate these assets, and if they do not respond to your specific needs, speak to someone who can match you up with the best services that address those needs.
  4. Make this an ongoing routine. The biggest mistake we can make is to lose sight, even for a short while, and slip back into old habits.

Following these simple four steps can help you to begin regaining control and shedding the fear.

“Easy for him to say!  I manage over X number of services and assets for my company and it is not as easy as four simple steps…” My answer to this; actually it is. You are not alone. Let me help you break the barrier.  I am here to help.
