Today, I’m taking a brief break from talking about BYOD and mobile phone issues to shift back to the topic of automation. As readers of this blog know, I’ve written a fair bit on business process automation (BPA), and its many benefits to businesses. In the past, I’ve mainly discussed BPA in a relatively abstract manner. In this installment, I’ll be speaking about this topic much more concretely since Cimpl will be highlighting one of our bigger success stories in automation in a series of case studies that we’re releasing!Telecom Expense Management Software Saves Bank Millions

A Bank in Need of Telecom Expense Management Turned to Cimpl…

Not long ago, Cimpl was given the opportunity by a multinational bank to manage its many, many, many IT and telecom expenses and assets. The bank had grown so big that managing telecom expenses had become an onerous challenge, both logistically and financially. We rose to the occasion by developing creative software solutions that enabled the bank to save hundreds of thousands in costs every year. And now, we’re sharing this story with the world in a three-part case study series.

In this series, we highlight the key innovations in process automation that we designed and implemented for this bank. We constantly draw your attention to the fact that we’re Canada’s leader in IT and telecom expense management; the case studies give a more detailed overview of the engineering acumen that propelled us to this position. The series also demonstrates the tangible business value inherent to TEM. The case studies focus on answers to the bank’s most major TEM challenges: 

  • Challenge 1: Managing telecom assets and costs associated with tens of thousands of employees.
  • Challenge 2: Managing rapidly-increasing number of devices with the same number of IT personnel.
  • Challenge 3: Cutting costs associated with billing errors from carriers and underused services.

Cimpl’s solutions led to massive savings for the bank in all of the above cases. The case studies are good examples of how automation in TEM is a key driver in raising business margins.
